  • Column into base socket needs a secondary operation

H7/g6 at Ø22 mm asks for a tolerance the as-moulded process does not hold. Hand-assembled but must stand without wobble; g6 leaves 10–30 µm to slide in and glue.

Specify reaming or facing after the primary operation, and state it on the drawing.

  • Speed is most of what you are paying for

Air freight is €30.46 of a €57.42 landed cost — 53% of it. This part is heavy enough that flying it costs more than making it.

The same configuration by sea takes about 38 working days and cuts the freight to roughly a fiftieth.

  • The moulded version carries draft the printed one does not

Head prints without draft on the express lane, but injection molding needs 1° on every face parallel to the pull. Over a 90 mm wall that moves the surface by about 1.6 mm.

If the two must be interchangeable, design with draft from the start and accept it on the printed part too.

What is fixed, and what is yours

The parameters above move; the components do not. Every unit uses the same released bill of materials, from the same certified suppliers, because changing the electronics means repeating the certification — expensive, slow, and invisible to you. The freedom is in the geometry, which is the part you actually see and touch.

The parts that do not change — turned base — are made in volume and held in stock, so their tooling is spread over every configuration we sell and their lead time is zero. column and head are made for your order by cut to length from stock. That split is the whole reason this can arrive in 8 working days instead of six weeks.
